Speaking voice coaching
Be heard.Be believed.
Voice coaching for presenters, leaders and business professionals, from West End performer Marcia Richards. In person in Croydon, or online wherever you work.
You're not alone
Your voice is a habit. Habits can change.
Most people have never been shown how to use their speaking voice. They do what feels natural, then wonder why they're asked to repeat themselves, run out of breath mid-sentence, or come across differently from how they feel inside. The voice responds quickly to the right coaching.
Common challenges
Does any of this sound familiar?
"Sorry, could you repeat that?"
You're talked over in meetings, or your voice sounds airy and fades before it reaches the back of the room. Speaking up feels like shouting to you, even though to everyone else it simply sounds clear.
We build a supported, focused tone that carries without pushing.
When nerves kick in
Your voice shakes, you start to rush, and you run out of breath mid-sentence just when it matters most.
We work on breath, pace and grounding so you stay steady and in control.
Sounding like you mean it
You've been told you sound flat or monotone, or the opposite: loud or abrupt. Or a cry or wobble creeps in, so you sound emotional or insincere even when you mean every word.
We find warmth, variety and authority that sound like you.
Tired, tight or self-conscious
Your throat feels tight or tired after a long day of talking, or you cringe when you hear yourself on a recording or video call.
We release unnecessary tension so speaking feels easier, and you start to like how you sound.
How sessions work
Practical, personal, and built around real situations.
We listen
To how you speak now, often using something you really say: a presentation, a pitch or an introduction.
We build the foundations
Breath, resonance, clarity and pace, with simple exercises you can repeat anywhere, even before a meeting.
We put it into practice
We rehearse your real material until the new habits feel natural, so they're there when you need them.

Questions
Good to know.
Do I need to be a singer?
Not at all. Speaking voice coaching is for anyone who uses their voice to communicate. No singing required.
Can we work on a specific presentation or interview?
Yes. Bringing real material is one of the best ways to work, so the changes go straight into the situations that matter to you.
Online or in person?
Both. Sessions take place in person in Croydon or online on Zoom, wherever you are.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your goals. You'll often feel a difference in the first session, and a few sessions of practice help the new habits last.
